You can sort items by type by clicking on the "sorting function" at the bottom of your inventory (I).
If you select a type at the top of the inventory slot, only those slots that have items corresponding to that type are highlighted.
(Equipment-Mounting equipment-Reinforcement-Recovery Supplies-Supplies-Airship equipment, etc.)
